Right Now in Game of Thrones

Currently I am reading Game of Thrones. Let me rephrase that I am trying to read Game of Thrones, but I keep getting called in on my off day. I am not sure how long it is going to take me to get around to a review, so I thought I would give an update of what I am experiencing right now.

First, I let off at the part where Ned Stark had to murder and innocent dire wolf because the King has no backbone and can’t stand up to his wife. I mean seriously. Plus all of this happened because the Kings son lied. He started it! The dog suffered instead!

Second, My favorite character right now is Tyrion Lannister the dwarf. He is just so blunt and has the language of a sailor and knows it. He is unashamed. Regrets nothing he says and is probably the most honest normal person in the whole book. I hope he does not die.

Thirdly,  Jeffry gets on my nerves. He is spoiled and arrogant and just over all a evil human being. Let’s face it he is a brat. Nobody likes a brat. He is my least favorite character of all.

I am sorry about the short undetailed blog, but I felt my readers deserved to know something. 43951995_711713655861220_3367608115045335040_n

To make up for it here is a pic of the dog my husband and I adopted yesterday!!!!

The Books of Fall

Fall is a mere days away and I am so excited. It has always been my favoirte time of year. I love the spell of pumpkin spice, cinnomon and apple crisp. I love the cool air in the morning. Most of all I love how cozy the season is. I can imagine nothing better than curling up in a comfy chair and reading for hours.

It is going to take a lot of books to read for that long, and I wanted to share with you guys what I plan to read.

1. I plan to finish reading the one I started around the 5th of September. Game of Thrones. I know a lot of people have watched the show. I tried the show and hated it. I learned it was a book series and thought I would try them. Maybe I am a book girl?game of thrones

2. My husband has finally learned flowers die, but books live forever. As a wedding present I got an actually book copy of Outlander. I have read it in eBook form, but as we all know there is nothing better than the smell and sound of turning pages. I just need to be able to sit down and prepare my heart for Jamie Fraser.

3 &4 Anyone who knows me knows that I am very proud of books that leave a lasting impact. This is especially true with books published by southern authors like Margret Mitchell’s Gone with the Wind. A little less than a year ago I bought Gone with the Wind and Scarlett  (Yes there is a sequal). for just 4 bucks at a flea market in Jacksonville, Florida. The lady who sold me them has since closed up shop, but the books still remain on my shelf unread. I feel it is only fitting to pull them out this fall. What do you think?

These are the books I plan to cozy up with this fall. What books are you cozying up with?

Back on the Bandwagon

Hey yall,
Man it has been a while. If you have been wondering, Hey where did Brittney disappear to? Prepare yourself because I am about to shock you. As most of you who have followed Coffee,  Books and Bandwagons from the beginning know, I started back at college this year. I was not prepared for all the time it would take up in my day. I began to fall behind on reading, and was not able to provide any reviews, and without the reviews where would my blog be. I decided to take a brief hiatus while I figured out how to fit school into my daily life on top of working and blogging.

My hiatus turned out to be a lot longer than I thought. After moving back to Georgia from West Virginia I moved into a place kind of on my own. I had some roommates. That is not even the big news. Devon and I got MARRIED. My life became completely different. Now I was a wife, and have all those duties to fulfill as well.

But, The good news is I am back, and you can thank my husband for that. He noticed that blogging helped me not stress out so much, and recommended I start doing it again. But now that I am back with my completely changed life, I want you all to know I expect my blog to change as well. I want you to know me as more than just that girl that reviews books for you. I want you to know me as Brittney Pollock trying to ride on this bandwagon we call life. So, don’t be surprised if you see a how to organize you closet or chicken enchilada recipe on here every now and then. This is Coffee Books and Bandwagons after all

Banwaggon Review

Torn (Trylle, #2)Torn by Amanda Hocking
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In the second installment of the Trylle trilogy Torn we find Wendy, well torn. She is torn between her life in Forening, and the life she had back in the human world. She is torn between the love she found in Finn; a man of different social status, and thus off limits, and the growing attraction she has to Loki a mortal enemy, thus making him off limits too, Then, she finds out she is the daughter of Forening’s mortal enemy, and her dad is evil. Talk about daddy issues. What does she do? What choice does she make? You will have to read to find out
Here’s what I think. I don’t think social status should be so important. She is troll royalty (never thought I would say that in the same sentence), so what. What if Finn is the right guy for her? Her sense of duty could keep her from the love of her life. I get Hocking was trying to portray the need for social order, but at the expense of love, why?
Finn was a jerk. Yes, he was just trying to do what he thought was best, but he did not have to be so mean to Wendy. I was rooting for Finn and Wendy. Not so much anymore. She is better off with Tove. I don’t know if you can tell, but I have gotten emotionally attached to Wendy’s love life.
In terms of writing and the story line it was entertaining. Amanda Hocking kept me on the edges of my seat and I can’t wait to read Ascend.

I have been off the Banwaggon

Hey you guys, I just wanted to apologize to all of you for being gone for a few weeks. I recently moved back to Georgia, FINALLY/ I have missed it. It is good to be home. Now that I am back I am working again and going to school.  On top of trying to get situated. I just have not had time to read or blog much. I say regretful. I am taking part in Camp NaNoWriMo, but even that is a struggle to fit in.

Things are calming down and becoming more routine. I am going to try my hardest to have my review of Torn the sequel to Switched posted tomorrow, because I know you miss me.
